CAREER EXPERIENCE – DETAILS
•2002 to now Chien Dao Studio – Architect New York
Principal. Architect of commercial and residential projects in New York and Florida. Principal coordination of client’s needs, engineering consultants, and team members from schematic design to construction documents. Architectural consultant for Fulcrum Development and RKT&B Architects new building and rehabilitation residential restoration projects. Affordable housing new building projects and restorations. New restaurants from schematic design to construction completion including design on select projects. Also includes numerous zoning schematics for development projects in NYC. Libraries and marina designs in Italy with Gaetano Pesce.
• 1999 to 2002 HKIT Architects - Design California
Designer. Coordination of client’s needs, engineering consultants, and team members for schematic design, design development and construction documents of 140-unit affordable senior apartments in Mission Bay, San Francisco. Conceptual and schematic design visualization and presentations for development of over 15 multi-family housing, schools and laboratory projects.
•1998 to 1999 Flad & Associates – Visualization & CD’s Florida
3D Jockey and CAD Guy. Presentation drawings, computer models and 3D animations of new building and rehabilitations for hospital, laboratory, and school projects. Produced job-winning renderings and digital walk-through for public television review. Construction documents and technical detailing of hospitals, laboratories and school projects. Assisted in the development of construction documents.

Job Captain – Design development and construction documents for new and restoration of 1920's hotels, 1960's hotels and housing, hospitality (100,000+ sq ft.), commercial buildings, industrial kitchen/dining facilities (serving 5000+ meals daily), commercial office space and warehouse projects which were done on a design build basis.
• 1986 to 1988 SIPRO Restorations
Draftsman – Architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings for twelve story, 300 room historic hotel and office restoration projects of masonry, steel and concrete structures. Spaces included penthouses, hotel rooms, restaurants, auditoriums, interior and exterior spaces. Detailed furniture drawings. As-built surveys.
EDUCATION
1999 to 2001 UC Berkeley - Master of Architecture Berkeley, CA
AIA Scholarship and CED Fellowship. Course emphasis on architectural design, city planning, and real estate. Development courses at Hass School of Business. Berkeley Eco-House, winner of 2002 Berkeley Design Advocates Award For Sustainable Construction. Thesis topic: Alternative approach to mega-development projects (150+ acres, $1 billion) to create more dense and sustainable built environments. Thesis work included the 2001 Real Estate Challenge (UC Berkeley vs. Stanford Business School competition) presenting winning proposal for a 180 acre commercial and industrial development on former Navy Base, Mare Island, CA.

8 studio semesters including semester abroad at Vicenza Institute of Architecture. Design and theory oriented curriculum. Instructors include Paul Kariouk, Mike Kuenstal, Nancy Clark, Gary Ridgedill.
